The International Declaration on Core Competences in Professional Psychology was adopted by the IAAP and IUPsyS as follows:
- International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP): 15. June 2016
- International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS): 25. July 2016
The Declaration is a set of core competences endorsed in 2016 by the major international associations in psychology and it can be used to describe and identify the essential elements of professional psychology practice around the world. There is growing evidence of a broad, global interest in the project, based on requests for more information and reports that the Declaration has been translated into several languages. It has already been used in efforts towards developing regulations and/or benchmarking criteria in several national associations.
